Journeying with Mary by Lyn Holness

In February 2008 RUC held the book launch for Lyn Holness’ book Journeying with Mary, in which she shares her own journey with Mary as a Protestant. She writes: ‘God comes to us in a quiet, unspectacular way – from the dark, quiet, still, unexpected places – from inside a woman’s body, actually. Isn’t this exactly our reality? Most of our lives are quiet and unspectacular. Few of us experience amazing miracles every day; and like Mary’s initial reaction, we also doubt that God can do anything through us. But in reality, the opposite is true. This is precisely where and how God comes to us and can use us – in the ordinary things; in our relationships and in our brokenness; in what we do with who we are and in how generous we are in sharing ourselves with others. These are some of the things that Mary can show us.’
