Jabulani Rural Health Foundation

Jabulani Rural Health Foundation

Together with two other enthusiastic doctors, Taryn and Ben Gaunt, RUC members Karl and Sally le Roux founded the Jabulani Rural Health Foundation in October 2007. The Foundation is based at Zithulele Hospital, a small rural hospital in the Wild Coast, in one of the poorest areas of South Africa, where it supports the development of Zithulele Hospital and the health of the surrounding – around 130,000 people. The Foundation focuses on healthcare support, care for those affected by HIV/AIDS, poverty relief, education, nutrition and advocacy. It also caters for patients who are too poor or too sick to travel to the hospital – particularly malnourished children, HIV patients and cerebral palsy sufferers.
